The Reform UK leader Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
