The New Animated Series' Opening Sequence Chose the Incorrect Critical Role Song

The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series by Critical Role, revealed an exciting opening credits. It features the beloved group of outcasts, outcasts, and criminals fighting hard and making their mark, while teasing at multiple heart-wrenching personal histories for key figures such as Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and another actor's warlock orc, the character Fjord.

All in all, the intro appears amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that something was lost in the song choice.

The intro employs "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional song created by artist the talented musician. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of that title, the second one put out by the production company's music division their music brand. It's a wonderful nostalgic choice, and I believe that fans of the second campaign will love its inclusion.

Personally, The series' intro fails to capture the hype and excitement that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", written by musician the artist, became an immediate hit for me when it was first revealed in 2015, and it only got better when cast member the performer added lyrics to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year.

Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, a co-star, as well as Riegel himself, the track was catchy and enjoyable. At the time, I hadn't seen the follow-up series at that point, but this was such an earworm that I still saved it on my device. It's a song that excites you before you dive into an installment of fantasy hijinks.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "Welcome to Wildemount" doesn't strike the same chords in my opinion. It's an impressive piece of music, but based on my understanding of the group, I can't help but feel that its mood is a little off.

Of course, the creators has already said that the animated show will have some surprises and variations from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its opening seems to be among these.

This animated adventure will be available to watch on Prime Video from Nov. 19. For those eager until then, or want a head start to learn about the personas of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the actual play are accessible on the audio platform and the video site.
