Netflix Chooses Spot-On Star for Bentham in One Piece Third Season
The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed this week that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Mr. 2. Bon Clay can use their power to change into an exact copy of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that character reimagined as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, as in the source material and cartoon version.
Escola is joined by several other recently announced actors who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, such as chief Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Even though Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering the second season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this signals a major departure in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest more adjustments to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the part. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10, 2026.
