Over 50 unaccompanied minor migrants who vanished not long after reaching the UK and while being looked after by the authorities are remain unaccounted for, according to data gathered.

Many of the missing children arrived in small boats or stowed away in the rear compartments of lorries and are thought to have been taken by smugglers. A specific county is commonly the area where they first land.

Official Data Shows Alarming Numbers

Disclosed information has documented 345 children disappearing from local care, with 56 of those yet to be located.

Between 2021 and 2023, when designated facilities for children functioned in addition to other sites in different regions, 132 children disappeared from the accommodations. Among them, 108 were later found but 24 are still missing.

Between 2020 and August 2025, 213 children vanished from welcome hubs for such children, with 182 located and 32 still missing.

Nationality Breakdown of Vanished Minors
