US performer Finn, who featured in iconic programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a message.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.

His film credits are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
